Android phones have the highest rate of hardware problems
Bad news, since Android phones have the highest rate of hardware problems than those of competitors (Apple, and RIM-BlackBerry iOS-Phone QNX and Windows 7). But the study focuses on 35 manufacturers, rather than focusing only on those known.

A study focuses on hardware issues encountered by users of Android smartphones. It was commissioned to WDS by British Telecom. Data are from telephone calls to customer service. The results were analyzed from 600,000 calls, over a period of 12 months.

It shows that out of 100 problems (to be consistent with the 100%), the Android phones have in 14% of cases of problems with their equipment . For comparison (on the basis that the figure of Android) Phone Windows 7 is 9%, the Apple iPhone and BlackBerrys 8% to 3.7%. But this figure is relative to Android, because the system is used by many manufacturers , where Windows 7 Phone is limited to a few (5). Apple and RIM are involved in both hardware and software, which places them in another category. Indeed, they can control the production from A to Z. The causes are varied, since depend on the manufacturer: screen, battery, touch-sensitive keys. But the study does not specify the fault of each manufacturer.

A "problem" (and force the other side) of Android is the ability to offer entry-level devices. These can be of good quality, but some manufacturers may also include materials of poor quality, which will deteriorate rapidly. WDS says that 35 manufacturers have been selected in the survey for Android. We do not know much, which suggests the best and the worst. So we can say that this study is certainly consistent results, but does not consider the major manufacturers (Acer, HTC, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson ...). However, they are known to provide material of sufficient quality.

The study concluded that there are certainly too many smartphones poor. We know that Google has requirements for Android, should not it be strengthened?
