BBX, the new mobile platform from RIM

Right now, it's not going very hard to RIM, and even more since that nasty blackout that wreaked havoc in much of the world. Still, the Canadian manufacturer has not shifted the DevCon held in San Francisco and the firm has the opportunity to unveil its new mobile platform. A mobile platform that we know as the BBX and install as well as the playbook on the next device. And if you want to know what to expect, it's not complicated, everything is a little lower.

To describe it briefly, we can say that BBX is a universal platform to RIM but clean. It could just as easily run on mobile or tablets brand on embedded systems in our cars. In addition, we also know that BBX is a derivative of QNX (available on the Playbook) and is based on a completely new architecture. A security architecture based on the cloud and that showcases the native applications but also for applications developed in HTML 5. Not stupid, this will allow developers to provide more easily porting their tools and services on the platform of RIM. Knowing that the BlackBerry App World lacks a bit of fresh blood, we understand completely the choice of Canadian firm. The interface of BBX will also mark a turning point in its history since the tiles and find or cascade windows. We await the first video background to judge the value of the thing but it will certainly not of course have a big idea for Windows Phone 7.

On paper, therefore, gives BBX rather like but there are, as always with RIM, a major drawback: for all we know, only the coming of the mobile firm will be able to run it. This means therefore that your brand new BlackBerry is already outdated. And here we must admit that it's starting to become very heavy as it is more of the same with RIM. Casually, it might be a good thing that someone thinks to tell Mike Lazaridis that everyone does not necessarily have the means to change cell phone every six months. M'enfin, we'll still wait for confirmation of this before leaving the machete ...
