The technology is called Google TV. At the heart of it, Google TV is an Android-based operating system tied to Logitech equipment. Because android is a full-fledged operating system in itself, you are free to do anything that you would normally do on the Web on your PC or laptop. The Logitech equipment is a stylish Logitech set-top box which comes with its own keyboard. This keyboard even has a touchpad and functions like a large remote control. Using this remote control, you can single-handedly watch TV and check Facebook at the same time. No extra equipment is necessary. Just hook up your internet or Wi-Fi connection to the Logitech set-top box. The set-top box is called Logitech Revue and sports Ethernet jack and Wi-Fi for easy connectivity.
This Logitech set-top box comes pre-installed with Google TV, the android-based operating system that we talked about. This Android OS is built to work seamlessly with an HDTV. Logitech Revue requires that you have a compatible Dish receiver. You just need to hook up the Logitech Revue Companion Box to a compatible DISH Network receiver and your HDTV with HDMI cables. With DISH Network, no IR blaster is needed.
With Google TV, you are not restricted to just Twitter and YouTube. You get to have the complete Web experience as you are familiar with on your PC.
